August 19 Online Event: Global Happy Hour on California Slang

Get to know other students and learn all about California slang!

Grab your favorite beverage and log on, because not only will you have a chance to meet students from all Berkeley Global programs, we're also going to be talking California slang.

Learn about how you can tell whether someone is from NorCal or SoCal based on what they call freeways and why you should not say "hella" in SoCal or say "San Fran" or "Cali"—ever.

If you trynna warm up, check out this article with some common Bay Area slang.

This event will be virtual so you can join whether or not you have arrived to the Bay Area yet. The Zoom link will be emailed to registered attendees before the event.

Note: If you require an accommodation for effective communication (ASL interpreting/CART captioning, alternative media formats, etc.) or information about campus mobility access features in order to fully participate in this event, please email Ziva Armstrong with as much advance notice as possible and at least 7-10 days in advance of the event.
