As recommended by campus, we are cancelling our in-person student activities. Instead, we will have several ways to connect virtually throughout the period when classes are all remote.
This is a unique situation that may feel stressful and confusing. During this time, it’s even more important that you remain engaged with your community. Continue to form study groups (even if it's at home or online), message and chat with your friends and family, make phone and video chat appointments with your professors and advisers, and participate in our virtual activities!
ISS will be offering multiple virtual opportunities for you to continue to engage, connect and take advantage of your time with Berkeley. Most will take place in our UC Berkeley Global Discord Server, which you can join here.
Below are some virtual activities we are hosting. We will update this information as more details are finalized and events are added.

We will sort participants into breakout rooms so you can study with students in the same major or classes. Register here for the Zoom link!
What is Discord?
Discord is a mobile app, web app and desktop app where you can join chat rooms (called “servers”) to chat with people! Originally created for gaming, it’s now used for all kinds of groups, including us!
The server has multiple “channels,” which are smaller chats about more specific topics than the general one. You can join any channel or create a new one.
One cool thing about Discord is that there is a voice channel! Just hold down the “Q” key to talk to whoever is in the chat when you are in the voice channel.
