March 10 Online Event: Career Exploration Series—Expert Tips for Launching Your Biotech Career

Experienced pharma consultant Maureen Martin shares tips on finding a mentor

Facilitated by guest speaker and experienced pharma consultant Maureen Martin, this event will share tips on the importance of finding and utilizing a mentor to launch your career.

From there, she will introduce co-presenters from BioPoint Inc., each of whom will cover specific guidance for navigating the biotechnology/pharma industry in 2022 and beyond.

In the second half, BioPoint representatives will offer different strategies you can employ to find and secure job opportunities in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, as well as review the benefits of collaborating with a recruiter and the importance of building a professional network.

About Our Speakers

Maureen Martin has been a California Registered Nurse for more than 30 years, half of which has been working in the pharmaceutical industry in clinical affairs and regulatory affairs at organizations including Agouron, Pfizer, Allergan and, most recently, Mirati Therapeutics. She launched and led the Pfizer mentoring program in San Diego. Maureen is an experienced presenter to students and summer interns, lecturing for La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company and at Arizona State University's Clinical Research program. Maureen has worked primarily as a consultant during the past 15 years.

Gretta MacEachern is the Head of BioPoint's Internal/Campus Recruiting group. Previously, Gretta was a pharmaceutical recruiter at BioPoint, where she specialized in placing consultants in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. She began her career in 2015, working at various tech startups in software sales for three years Eventually, she made a move into recruiting, and in 2018, switched industries from tech to life sciences.

Bob DeGroot is co-founder and partner at BioPoint Inc. He began his consulting career in 1998, supporting IT groups within Fortune 500 companies. In 2006, he began working with the pharmaceutical industry, and in 2011—with his four business partners—co-founded BioPoint. Bob has worked with startup, clinical stage and fully commercialized clients during the past 15 years.
