Business analysis fascinates me due to its pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technological solutions,” Vrushali Patki explains. “It offers a unique blend of analytical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills, allowing me to make a tangible impact on organizational success.”

The allure of business analysis is what has driven Vrushali since 2013, when she landed her first BA role at Wipro. Since then, she’s held business analyst roles at the State of Missouri’s Office of Administration, Delta Dental insurance company, Blue Shield of California, Genentech and currently at PG&E, where she holds an esteemed expert IT business analyst role.

Throughout this extensive experience, Vrushali hasn’t shied away from keeping her BA toolkit as sharp as possible. She earned a master’s in management of technology from New York University Tandon School of Engineering, a PMP® certification and, in 2023, a certificate from our Business Analysis program!

My goal was to leverage the comprehensive curriculum to deepen my understanding of business analysis methodologies and tools, ultimately advancing my career to the next level.

Her commitment to analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions—both at work and in the classroom—is self-evident. At every turn, Vrushali flexes analytical thinking, problem solving and communication skills to make a tangible impact on organization success.

How so?

“When tasked with optimizing project management processes, I employed data analysis techniques to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies,” she responds. “By collaborating with cross-functional teams, I developed innovative solutions and communicated recommendations effectively to stakeholders, resulting in streamlined workflows and improved project outcomes.”

To up the ante on this unique blend of skills, Vrushali turned to our certificate program to further enhance her expertise and stay informed on latest industry trends and best practices. As our business analysis courses align with the International Institute of Business Analysis® (IIBA) Business Analysis Competency Model®, Vrushali knew she was able to identify the areas of focus to develop skills in order to meet the needs of organizations and her own career growth.

“My goal was to leverage the comprehensive curriculum to deepen my understanding of business analysis methodologies and tools, ultimately advancing my career to the next level,” Vrushali affirms. “I discovered the certificate through extensive research and recommendations from industry peers who spoke highly of UC Berkeley Extension's reputation for delivering high-quality, practical education tailored to professionals' needs.”
