Meet our Hosts

Ryan Dean, NuScale Power Manager of Internal and External Communications

Ryan is responsible for the company’s public and media relations, stakeholder outreach and social media. Prior to joining NuScale, he was a communications supervisor at Southern Nuclear where he led the external affairs for the company’s three nuclear power facilities operating in Georgia and Alabama, including community and stakeholder outreach, public relations and media relations. Ryan previously held public affairs and corporate development positions at Ascent Resources and Chesapeake Energy, both oil and gas exploration and production companies operating in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
 

Caroline Spears, Climate Cabinet Executive Director

State and local elections are too often under-funded and ignored by the average voter. Enter Climate Cabinet Action, the "Moneyball" of climate politics. Climate Cabinet targets state and local elections that provide the greatest "return on investment" on climate and helps those candidates win at the ballot box. From critical funding to field or communications services, Climate Cabinet provides pro-climate candidates with the tools they need to succeed.
 

Brian Grierson, General Atomics Director, Fusion Pilot Plant Design Hub

Brian leads a team of scientists and engineers who are developing a fully integrated fusion pilot plant to put electricity on the grid. Prior to joining General Atomics, he spent more than 10 years with the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory as a division head and principal research physicist involved in domestic and international magnetic-fusion energy research. He received his Ph.D. in applied physics and applied mathematics from Columbia University in New York.
 

Dinesh C, ADAPT Founder and CEO

ADAPT is developing a sustainable mobility platform for organizations to decarbonize their transportation-related impacts. Dinesh is a globally recognized thought leader and innovator throughout the mobility industry. He is also a board member of Japanese Community Young Council (JCYC), one of the largest San Francisco nonprofit educational institutions serving 7,000 children and youth annually from all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. Dinesh started his career with IBM after graduating from Brown University in Computer Science and Business Economics and later pursued his Master’s in sustainability at Harvard University. Obsessed with using technology to bring better lives for human beings around the world, Dinesh has been teaching entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley Extension since 2015.
 

Tony Keslinke, Veritel Energy Founder

Tony works to decarbonize the electrical grid and democratize renewable energy in at-risk communities. He is passionate about the power of using intelligent development in the built environment in order to deliver improved outcomes for communities and residents of workforce housing. Prior to his current venture, Tony worked in traditional real estate development, creating hundreds of millions of dollars of public and private value during the past three decades. He is a UC Berkeley Golden Bear lifetime alumni member and a proud father of a third-year UC Berkeley mechanical engineering student.
