Guest speaker Robert Strand, Executive Director of the Center for Responsible Business at Berkeley Haas, presented a lunchtime talk for Berkeley Haas Global Access Program students.
It was a perfect embodiment of the Haas School of Business principle "Beyond Yourself" as Robert talked about the role of the corporation and finding purpose beyond profit. Below are some photos from his presentation.
Students listen while learning about the role of corporations in society.
Haas School of Business Principle "Beyond Yourself": We shape our world by leading ethically and responsibly. As stewards of our enterprises, we take the longer view in our decisions and actions. This often means putting larger interests above our own.
In the audience were Berkeley Haas Global Access Program students from around the world, representing over 10 countries.
Robert Strand is faculty at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. His research and teaching focuses on the global approaches and strategic aspects of sustainability and ethics and the role of the corporation in society.
