Graduation Means a Time for Inspiration and Reflection for International Students

A recap of the Fall 2018 graduation ceremony

BHGAP graduate Bavanthan Nadarasa from Denmark poses for a photo.

Each semester, Berkeley Haas Global Access Program (BHGAP) students come together to reflect on what they learned and to look ahead to where they will go next.

These future entrepreneurs traveled from their home countries around the world to spend a semester studying at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and learning about the Silicon Valley ecosystem.

Take a look at some of our favorite images and videos from last semester's closing ceremony:

The Berkeley Haas Global Access Program closing ceremony featured speeches from UC Berkeley Extension Associate Dean Scott Shireman and the BHGAP Co-Director Alex Budak. Graduates from China, Brazil and Spain also gave heartfelt speeches sharing how they will implement lessons learned here to the rest of their lives.

Graduate Darin Wu from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China, gives a speech to the graduating class on how the program encouraged her to get out of her comfort zone, to take on new challenges and to do her best.

Our graduates also know how to have fun! The entire group poses here for a silly photo at the end of the graduation ceremony.

BHGAP Co-Director Alex Budak addresses the graduates: "One of the greatest joys of my role here at Haas is getting to be the first person to say, 'Congratulations, BHGAP alumni class.'"

Students displayed talents beyond the business world. The ceremony also featured a special violin performance by graduate Iris Yuning Ye.

Congratulations to all our students on this impressive achievement! Check out all the photos from the BHGAP Fall 2018 closing ceremony.
